Wharfside Residences by Mirvac

Considered furniture curation and styling delivered at scale.

Project Snapshot

Wharfside Residence is a full display suite within Mirvac’s Yarra’s Edge precinct, curated and styled by DMP Creative to present a refined, liveable vision of contemporary apartment living. Engaged to furnish and style a substantial, multi-zoned home under tight timeframes and budget parameters, the brief required clarity, decisiveness and a strong understanding of buyer psychology. The result is a polished, confident interior that feels aspirational without being polarising.

Client Brief

The brief was to deliver a complete, turnkey display suite that would appeal to a broad range of potential buyers while still feeling elevated and design-led. Time and cost were fixed realities, and all selections needed to align with a developer-led framework. The space had to feel generous, functional and immediately liveable, while showcasing the potential of the residence through thoughtful furniture curation, layered styling and art.

Design Story

Working within a developer brief requires clarity and restraint. At Wharfside, the challenge was delivering an aspirational interior under fixed time and budget parameters, without tipping into anything overly polarising. DMP Creative approached the project through furniture-led storytelling, using scale, proportion and zoning to bring warmth and clarity to what is a substantial footprint.

Key pieces from Ligne Roset, de Sede, HC28 and Duvivier anchor each space, creating clearly defined zones that read as cohesive and immediately liveable. Sculptural forms such as the Ploum Settee, TOGO® and Pumpkin Armchair introduce comfort and character, while rugs and lighting soften the architectural shell and reinforce a calm, residential atmosphere. Artworks curated through Art Bank add depth and cultural relevance without overwhelming the interiors.

What defines this project is the speed and decisiveness behind it. Coordinating furniture curation, procurement and installation at scale required confident decision-making and trusted supplier relationships. The result is a polished display suite that feels effortless, aspirational and easy for prospective buyers to imagine as home.

“Clever, bold and daring. DMP Creative injects a refreshing aesthetic that invites pause and a desire to push beyond the expected”

Before and After

Prior to styling, the residence presented as a large, undefined architectural shell. Through furniture, art and considered styling, the apartment was transformed into a sequence of liveable, aspirational spaces that clearly communicate how the home can be used, furnished and enjoyed.

Key Design Moves

  • Using furniture curation as the primary design driver rather than structural intervention

  • Selecting sculptural yet approachable furniture to appeal to a wide buyer market

  • Prioritising scale and proportion to suit a substantial apartment footprint

  • Creating clear zones to demonstrate liveability and function

  • Layering texture and softness to balance the architectural shell

  • Integrating art through Art Bank to elevate the interiors without polarising buyers

  • Delivering a full fit-out under tight timeframes through decisive planning and procurement
